Always get a unique name: It is better that you do not take any domain name that is already very popular in your area of expertise. If you are thinking about starting a new tech blog then you should not go for the common names but rather go for some creative names. Name should be easy to write: The domain name of your website should be easy to write and do not have characters in them. This is important because if you have characters then they might create typing problems and then your potential customers might misspell your site and end up going to any other site. This is because it is impossible for common people to remember a very long name and hence your website will never become a popular one in spite of having good content. Also a long name might not have any meaningful keyword and thus it will not be SEO compatible.
Content: The domain name along with the extension should always reflect the market and thus if you are selling products internationally then you should register your domain as.com and if you are selling products locally then choose the name of the country where you are selling the product. This means that if the content of the site is targeted towards some specific country the domain name should also be related to the same or else you may not get the best results.

What do you guys think the values will be of pronounceable four letter domains in five years? They are currently all registered and the value is already increasing.
Think they could be up in the thousands???
Depends. The ones that carry more weight will be those ones that have consonants at either ends and vowels in the middle or if the four letters abbreviate nicely with a company's name.
